Security is tighten as Somali leaders gather to attend president Deni’s inauguration

(Garowe)--Security is tighten as Somali leaders arrived in Garowe town for Puntland’s elected president Said Abdullahi Deni’s inauguration ceremony which to be held later today.  Security forces are everywhere in the town.
President of the Somali federal government Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed (Farmaajo) and the former president Shariff Sheikh Ahmed landed today in Garowe to attend the inauguration.
Former president of Somali Federal government Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud arrived in the town yesterday.
Regional leaders of Hir-shabelle, Galmudug, Jubbaland, and South-west arrived. While Somali’s top political figures, including the most critic to Somalia’s Federal government in Mogadishu, Wadajir party leader, Abdirahman Abdishakur Warsame was also there in Garoowe town. 
This is the first to hold such with such magnitude in Garowe since the region’s formation 2o years ago.
Said Abdullahi Deni, Puntland’s elected president, defeated General Asad Osman Abdullahi in a third round of voting by 35 votes to 31 in the region's Jan. 8th election.

Kenya ordered closure of Dadaab refugee camp this year, according to leaked UN document

Kenya has ordered the closure of the Dadaab refugee camp by the middle of this year with the race now on to find homes for more than 210,000 people, according to a leaked internal United Nations document obtained by the Thomson Reuters Foundation.  Citing "national security concerns", the Kenyan government wrote to the United Nations refugee agency (UNHCR) on Feb. 12 about plans to close Dadaab within six months and asking the agency "to expedite relocation of the refugees and asylum-seekers residing therein". Officials from Kenya's interior ministry did not immediately respond to requests for comment, but the UNHCR confirmed the plan. "UNHCR is aware of the renewed call by the Government of Kenya to close Dadaab and is working with the government to continue to implement long-term and sustainable solutions for over 210,000 refugees living in the camp," said the UNHCR in a statement emailed to the Thomson Reuters Foundation. Somalia Cabinet Approves 18% Rise in 2020 Budget to $460 Million

Somalia’s cabinet approved an 18% increase in the government’s budget for next year to $460 million, the finance minister said. The Horn of Africa nation estimates it would have spent $390 million by the end of 2019, Finance Minister Abdirahman Dualeh Beileh told reporters Monday in the capital, Mogadishu.  It initially had a budget of $340 million for this year, but increased spending plans after collecting higher-than-expected revenue. Beileh said he’d present the estimates to lawmakers later this year. Economic growth this year could come in at 2.9%, according to International Monetary Fund estimates. Source: Bloomberg
