Somalia: Puntland's New 66 MPs were sworn in

Garowe- Puntland's new 66 MPs were sworn in Tuesday morning in  Garowe, the capital, picked the oldest Hussein Yasin Hajji as the house's interim speaker.
The new 66-seat MPs were announced late Monday afternoon, 70% are youths & new, the rest remain the old one's, while only one female member shown in the list.
The released list of MPs  will elect the region's new president on the 8th of January 2019, who will be in office for the next 5 years.

Over 20 presidential aspirants showed up who are vying for the presidency including the incumbent president, Abdiwali Mohamed Ali Gaas. Puntland is situated on the Gulf of Aden, near the entrance to the Red Sea, and Suez Canal making it one of the busiest shipping channels.
